This is a liquid compound developed to effectively negate the hazards and spillages of oil spills from all surfaces, by its super emulsifying action. D.SPILL is non-injurious to personnel, has no odour, is not corrosive and is non-toxic and also non-explosive. D.SPILL is soluble in oils and water. It converts oil spills within minutes into a milky emulsion when agitated with water which is then dispersed.
APPLICATION OF D.SPILL
D.SPILL is suitable for: –
- Floating oil on harbors, coastal waters, inland waterways.
- Oil spills on ship decks, piers, beaches and land.
- Oil accumulating on pilings, dock support structures.
USE D.SPILL directly from containers to the spill by pressure spray guns, ejector nozzle jets, etc or simply by mopping or brushing where applicable. Wet the oil spill by D.SPILL and allow a contact time of about 10 – 20 minutes. Then emulsify the mixture by agitating with spray guns etc, of salt or fresh cold water. On water, propeller action of a launch can equally agitate the mixture.
Agitation of the mixture is of primary importance.
For small spills, on solid surfaces, pour D.SPILL and mix with mop or brush, and add salt or fresh cold water, continue mixing. When completely emulsified, rinse with water. For oil spills exposed to sunlight for long, heavier treatment may be necessary since all volatile ingredients of oil may have evaporated to varying degrees.
RECOMMENDED control of labour and use of D.SPILL by treating any spill at source if possible, before it escapes into water, as on deck or dock.
Safety & Caution
Although D.SPILL is safe to use, it may cause prolonged itching to skin on long exposures to ungloved hands. Wear gloves and use primary precautions associated with all chemicals. In case of contact with skin flush with plenty of water.
